All My Cries
I just inadvertently heard my mom’s voice with one of those ‘record your own message’ cards. The front of card says “Are we planning to celebrate your birthday in a sophisticated dignified manner?” Inside of card: “C’mon! You know us better than that.” Grandma sings ‘Happy Birthday’ then I hear Mom in the background, ‘No singing, no singing.’ Then they both start humming Happy Birthday, because at my 3rd birthday party I insisted that everyone should hum Happy Birthday instead of singing it. And now, I cry…..a lot…..
